monthly update

So, I've been lacking, and much has happened in the last month. But at least I'm not as bad as the folks over at out of the miry clay. Let me try to let you in on everything that has happened. First, we had my brother and sister in law and the kids stay at our house. And it was so much fun. It was different having kids running around, but we really enjoyed it. It was nice to see Megan again, she is at such a fun age, and such a happy little girl. And I can't believe how big the boys are. And of course Luke plays the "crazy uncle" role well. Daniel kept calling him silly the whole time. Michelle put up some pictures of our place on her blog, thanks Michelle, in case you want to see what our place looks like. They were able to go to church with us and meet our church family, so that was nice. They went home that night, then that same night three of my friends from my time at Christian supply came out and spent the night. That was a ton of fun as well. They stayed until Monday night then went home. So it was a full weekend of guests, but it was wonderful. A few weeks before Ryan stayed with us as well, I can't remember if I wrote about that. But Luke and I love having people stay with us. Mom and dad might come in May, and so might Chantal and Justin. So anyone who's interested, let us know!

We had our Easter service this past weekend, and that turned out nice. We had about the same amount of people as last year, but we rented out the high school. Which was a great idea because it would have been very cramped in our church building and we also had a meal after the service. So it was nice to have the use of the school's kitchen. It was very stormy though, so by the afternoon, everyone was soaked from having to move everything back to the church. However that adds to the experience.

Probably the biggest news for us right now is that I gave my notice at my work. A lot was going on and Luke and I decided it was best to move on. I was very happy with the decision and we're looking forward to see what God will bring next. I'll still need to work, so I've been looking around at a couple different places. But I'll let you know when something turns up. We've noticed how nice it is to not have to worry about finding another job, because we already know that God provides. Some people might have though this was a bad decision with where the economy is, but we can just say "God's bigger than the economy," and be just fine. It's nice to have an unmovable foundation to lean on. Knowing that Luke and I are excited to see what God will do and not worrying about it is a huge blessing.

Also, today is our 2 year anniversary. We both have to work today, but went out for coffee this morning. Next weekend we're going to stay in Portland to see a comedian that Luke really likes, Brad Stein. So we're looking forward to that. We will be missing a Sunday for that, so it will be weird to have nothing going on on a Sunday. But I guess that's ok to take one off once in a while.

Well, that's about all.

God bless

I ALWAYS APPRECIATE WHAT YOU WRITE RACHEL AND LOVE SEEING YOUR HEART THAT SHOWS THROUGH. YOU ARE SO DEAR TO US.

I REAL SOMETHING BY KEN CARAWAY AND SOMEHOW IT MADE ME THINK OF LUKE.

"THERE IS NO BOX MADE BY US THAT GOD CANNOT FLATTEN THE SIDES AND BLOW OFF THE TOP TO MADE A DANCE FLOOR ON WHICH TO CELEBRATE LIFE"

I REMEMBER HOW YOU SAID THAT HE WOULD SUDDENLY GRAB YOU AND START DANCING. HOPE HE'S STILL DOING THAT! :)

Happy Anniversary!!!
I would love to spend the day with you when you come up! Just let me know when. I miss you too! Do you have text messaging on your phone? That would be nice to be able to text back and forth.
Love you!

Amy,
I don't have text on our plan. I do it every once in a while, but not enough to keep up a conversation. We are thinking of changing our plan, so I'll let you know if we do.

Aw, Rachel.

Thanks SO much for letting us stay with you. It was amazing to have us all together again, and we absolutely loved spending time with you. It was great to get to know Luke, too. We'll have to tall get together again before another 2 years rolls around.

Love you, my dear, and I hope you had an amazing anniversary! Congrats on two years! :)
