So I decided I wanted to write more today. I noticed this verse the other day and had forgotten about it, when I saw it again it brought a new wave of encouragement. 1 Cor. 7:17- "Only let each person lead the life that the Lord has assigned to him, and to which God has called him." That with the added promise of Romans 8:28- "And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose." You know what this verse means? -There really is a reason why we are where we are, and it's from God!
I really needed that reminder right now. I question things so often wondering why they aren't different. Or why doesn't the "right" thing happen, this isn't "fair" what's happening, why can't "this" be a part of our lives? But God is in control and has a purpose and a reason. (I feel like I wrote a post about this same thing a while ago, I'm obviously not learning my lesson.)
The story of Hosea always stuck out to me. This man loves the Lord, and God asks him to marry a whore. I mean, what's fair in that? But he does, and she goes back to being a whore. But then God tells Hosea to get her back, and he pays fifteen shekels of silver and a homer and a lethech of barley for her. ( I don't really know what any of that it, but sounds like a lot.) But Hosea bought his wife back! He paid a price for what was already his. Does that remind you of anyone? God made us, but had to pay a price to get us into heaven. We are a wicked people, but God is so holy. Praise God that He loves us!
"In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we have loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins." 1 John 4:9-10.
"For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world-our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?' 1 John 5:4-5
So, basically, God has a purpose for me, paid the price for my soul, loves me, and has given me victory over this world. Why do I complain again? I feel humbled.
Well, hope my random thought process is of encouragement.
Praise God, and God bless
